New Series
Journal Entry: Thu Sep 27, 2007, 10:12 AM
It has taken me a few months to finally post this series because its a very personal series. Back in June of this year nine wonderful men lost their lives in a Charleston Fire. One of those men happened to be my husbands first cousin, Firefighter Brandon Thompson.
Brandon was 27 years old, and was happily engaged to a wonderful woman, and they were to be married this October.
When he was younger he used to skip school just to fight fires. Being a firefighter is what he loved to do, and he died doing what he loved to do.
I left out photos of the family out of respect even though my husband said to use them. Most of them are from make shift memorials in front of the furniture store where they lost their lives.
Please, do not remove these photos without my written permission. If you would like the photo, I will make it a print and all of the money will go to the fund for a thermal camera* for the fire fighters. I am very reasonable with prices and its all going to help men and women who risk their own lives to help save someone else. If you do not want a picture, but would like to donate send me a note and I will get the information (Where to send it) and send it to you. Again, they appreciate all donations.
Thank you for your understanding and I hope you like the series.
Rest in Peace Gentlemen.
*A thermal camera helps them see through the fire to locate people inside and could save many lives, including their own. Having a thermal camera was Brandon's dream and I am sure it was for the others as well.
